I have a boat with no name. I was wondering, when using the VHF radio, how should I refer to myself. Normally, folks would say like, otherboatname this is myboatname over, or what have you. If your boat doesn't have a name, how do you identify yourself?

When I had my 20' unnamed Harvey dory I used to use "disabled blue dory" all the time.

Bummer. I hope I don't have to refer to myself as "disabled old center console" much. I'm sure it will happen though.

put a name on your boat....problem solved:)

This is true. I have though about it, but I have a problem. I have a boat name that I always wanted to use on my boat. Basically, I want to name it after my granddad's B17 in WWII. I just don't know that I am dedicated to this boat enough to name it that. On the other hand I don't know if I can ever afford another boat.

Just Name Every Boat you Ever Own that Name...........

I either carry on the Name on a boat when I get it,....
Like "Mom's Paycheck" on the Houseboat,........
Or,....
My Fishing Boat is "Sunkhaze Maineiac",......
And My next Fishing Boat will carry That name......
But even Then,........
I'm hailed on the water as Bondo,..... Not Sunkhaze Maineiac..........

I had a couple of boats that had to be Used for awhile to see what their Personalities were before I could give them a Name..........

1 is "006, Licenced to Thrill"...........
And with a Buck Thirty-Five Tower of Power on a 14'er,.....It's Difinetly a Thrill.......:D
