VHF Radio Installing Suggestion

I have a 17ft cc and I want to install a VHF Radio. But do to space on my cc, I'm thinking about installing it on the cc door hatch. It's close to my circuit broad and its hidden from saltwater splash or spray.

Any suggestions????
