Re: vhf radio question please help

What do you want to know? If it works, it is just as good as a new one, minus the bells, & whistles. A new radio can be had for $100. to $150. if you shop around. Ant. is probably more important than the radio, as long as the radio works. If it need to be repaired, you need a gov,t. license to do any work on it other than a fuse or something minor like that, so it probably won't pay to repair it. If you are looking to buy it, & it works & the price is right that's OK. From you question, I don't know what more to say. Good Luck, Joe

If you have boating friends they can instruct you on which channels are for what. Or better yet, take a boating safety course. They're a great way to meet new people, & leard about boating & your equipment. Also a great way to spend a few winter nights when you can't boat. In the mean time 6 is usually a hailing channel, 68,69,& 86, are channels fishermen use to talk back & forth. Basicly the same rules apply to all radio transmissions about language, etc. You can go to the library & get, or at least look at a book. And please don't say "Breaker Breaker." Good Luck, Joe
