Hello there,

New to boating, just got an 1989 20' Tempest caddy with 4.3 Mercruiser. I'm quite with the boat, but the other day while pulling out from the dock was a little windy, and alone!, I didn't realized that the wind was pushing the boat close to the shore to the stern side, I start panic a little, and engage the gear forward with the power trim up, I felt the prop bumping on the bottom, sure enough after that, the boat was giving me vibration at idle speed, at faster speed did not noticed almost any change. I believe I have a 19 Pitch. on. Now I check with my hand the blades, does not seem bent but, for sure someone told me it could be at the least out of alignment. What's normally the best bet have someone to look at it, or replace it?. I do have other 2 spare prop, but they are all dinged. Any input will be appreciate.

Regards.

Marco.

Re: Vibration at idle speed

This is a routine repair for any propeller repair shop. Bring it to one and have them check/rebuild/rebalance as needed. If you can't find a local prop shop, every local marina service department knows of one...just make a phone call.

Hi,

Thanks for your help, appreciate very much. I'll search for a shop around the Marina, I'm around Lindsay area in On. Canada.
