Vibration at low rpms on Force 125

My '89 Force 125 on a VIP 180CC has begun vibrating badly at low rpms (1500 to 3000). It runs smooth enough when I quickly accelerate from idle and when running full, but shakes the boat in the low to mid-range. Also it consistently dies when I shift it into gear without a quick transition to higher rpms (will not idle in gear). I recently had the carbureators cleaned and fuel pump diaphram replaced after a few years of very little run time. Jets were clogged. It doesn't vibrate much when out of gear. Question: will a magnetic field (donut magnet or primary circuit wire wrap) around the fuel line keep the gunk in the tank from plugging the filter and carbs?

sounds like they did not sync the carbs or adjust them right

Idle is probably too low. When you remove the carbs and clean them you must synchronize the timing and carbs and set the idle. It should be about 700 RPM in forward gear in the water.
