I have recently purchased a mildly stuck 1957 35hp big twin, what is the best repair manuel to use. I have it apart and almost all cleand up and am nearing the assembly stage and need torque specs and etc. Also what kind of compression should I be looking for? I've heard anywhere from 60 lbs. to 125 lbs. My complements on the iboats site, have done a ton of reading here and have learned alot. thanks for all the great info.

Try Ebay (get an OEM manual, not Seloc, Clymer, etc.) or outboardbooks.com (more expensive, but always the right book).

If you would like a free copy of a non-factory service manual that covers all 30-40HP motors built by OMC from 1956-1964, send me your email address in a Private Message and I will reply with it attached. Good luck with that great old motor.
