Vintage Motor

Anyone know what a 1959 Ted Williams motor, 5.5 hp, WITH manual, is worth?

Re: Vintage Motor

Well it is hard to quote a price without inspecting the motor, as condition is everything, but an answer I can give is not much.

Parts for them are getting harder and harder to find. I have had a few over the last couple years from buying truckloads of motors. I would not specifically purchase one. I just sold a 9.9hp running for 50 bucks. I figure any running motors should be worth at least 100 bucks, but I found it hard to sell myself.

Re: Vintage Motor

Best way is to check your local craigs list and ebay.it probably is worth more to a collector than as an everyday outboard.
A model number would help pin down who built it for Sears.Probably McCulloch .Keep in mind condition and completeness
are important.

Re: Vintage Motor

Most of the listings on craigslist I see for small vintage motors seem to run about $50-200.
