Hi everyone,
I own a 2014 Landau Island Breeze 212 Cruiser. The boat is in great condition and runs well. Recently however the vinyl floor as quick started to deteriorate from normal use. I was under the assumption that the factory installed marine vinyl floor was much more durable than it actually is. Here's my issue:
The top layer of the floor is peeling up. It appears that the smooth/glossy top layer with the pattern is what is peeling. As it peels water gets under it and makes the problem worse. The end result is a an exposed matte layer with no shine or pattern.
I'd like to fix the problem, but I'd rather not have to remove the seats and railings to peel up the old floor and replace it with new vinyl. Does anyone have any experience with a paint on top coat? I am considering just painting over it with a non slip marine deck paint. I was thinking about TUFF Coat: https://www.restorepontoon.com/pontoon/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=3058 . I am not sure how well it would adhere to the current floor, and would it be durable enough not to peel and chip?
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks
Tyler
