vinyl repair

My wife accidently sliced a little tear on the vinyl sun deck on our new boat. Has anyone used those vinyl repair kits before? I'd get it professionally done, but was told by my dealer to save the money and fix it myself as the orginal replacement is 400.00 without installation. Any suggestions?? Tnx.

check with local used car dealerships. they usually have someone come in and repair cracks in dashed, seats, cig burns, etc. they're miracle workers when it comes to any type of interior or upholstery flaws.

Believe it or not a hole is an easier repair than a slice.The only thing you can do with a slice is to bond a piece of vinyl under the slice.A hole can be filled and heat cured to a pretty good repair.
