Vinyle trim and replacing rotten wood.

Can anyone please give advise on the following two items? the vinyle trim on my boat is dirty and needs cleaned but has also gone hard in some places where sunlight gets it? whats best way to clean (its white)and is there any product that can restore/feed vinyle.thanks for any help. JBD
