I have a 1990 VIP Vision. The boat interior needs to be replaced. New seats and also the padded interior sidepanels. I have the serial number for the boat, but not sure what model number it is. Where can I find the model number.

I would also like to know where to go to purchase the new interior, hopefully off the internet and I will take out the old and put in the new.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jeff

Re: VIP Vision Interior

I bought an 89 Vision that needed a lot of interior work also. I ended up taking all of the old out and refabricating the patterns myself. I then had someone do the upholstrey and then reinstalled them. Lot of work. Lot of time. But, ending up being lots of fun. Enjoy.

Re: VIP Vision Interior

I too just purchased a 1988 VIP Vision 1800 . Originally told it was a 180 ?
That number does not exist! I did talk to a rep from the local VIP dealer here in Florida . He said from the picture I sent him it was a 1750 Vision .
I did an NADA search for the model of the boat and only the 1750 vision model exist . The dealer we bought our boat from said this model was a one off
that was built in 88 ,89 - 1800 vision. The diference is all in the length !
My hull measures 17' 10" the 1750 vision is a little less than that .
The 1750 also came in 2 versions I/O and outboard models .

Hope that helps !!

Btw Im steve from Canada with an all origional 90 vision 1700 with 2.3L cobra (converted to electronic ignition) with 250hrs.

Re: VIP Vision Interior

Ours is also the original 1988 3.0 litre motor and Alpha 1 outdrive.
It appears that many variations existed with this manufacturer.
But so far, everyone mostly says VIP's are a good solid boats
With a nice ride and set well in the water... Ours does that too .
I am reworking our interior as well . It needs almost the same things.
You know some rotten wood ,new vinyl, trim work , etc. In just a few short
weeks I have made a night and day difference in the look of the boat interior.
I will have pictures soon so if you email me I can share some ideas with you.

Rottie , Nice boat , very well kept ! Looks garaged . This is the best way to
keep your boat looking new. Unfortunately , ours is 20 years old and spent many of those uncovered . but overall it is not too bad. I do have one set of
the original VIP seats. And the front bow rail padding is completely gone .
I have temporarily attached a solid white plastic panel to where the old pad was. To cover all the old holes and rough spots. Later I will make new pads.
I don't want to spend a fortune on it, but do want a nice interior. I keep the boat fully covered in our driveway . It is under a big tree. So I get a ton of leaves and stuff during storms. (central Florida) Best $89 I ever spent .
Keeps boat clean and dry. As soon as I can put a few pics on the site I'll
do it . Keep up the good work. Excellent VIP you have there....

Re: VIP Vision Interior

Thanks and good luck with your interior, I need to have a bow cover and cockpit cover for mine for when I trailer more than the 2 miles I usually have to travel so if anyone has already had these made I would like to see a pic to see how it looks. This boat was never left outside and never left in the water. The marine plywood is all original and in perfect condition and the motor is amazingly clean. She was quite a find.

Re: VIP Vision Interior

It is nice to see what the original interior looks like when restoring a boat.
And yours is an excellent example of a very well kept vessel . I know we have only had ours for a few weeks but I have spent much time and effort finding out as much about these boat brands since weeks before buying it.
I'll see if I can post some shots of it here. Hope for the best !

I tried but it would not let me (too big) it said !
Not sure what to do ....

Re: VIP Vision Interior

I have never used the "photo bucket" Is there some site I can go to and get imfo on how to use it? Maybe I can take smaller jpegs and then try to post.
My camera will do 640's and 520's. The ones I tried to post were high resolution
1600 x1200 . So they were way big. I'll try again after this week end.

Thanks for the heads up .

You can also create a google account and the on googlepages create a web site or just opload files to the site. Once you have the files places on any web site of photo storage site, you just click on the "Insert Image" icon above the text box for your message and put the URL of the picture you wish to link in the message in the popup box.

My boat picture is on my google pages site and linked that way.
