Good day! My 1985 120 evinrude looper has a
voltage draw that I have isolated to the motor
its self.It draws power at all times when battery
is connected and very slowly drains the battery.
I have also determined that the charging system is
not charging at all. It did charge last season and
I am thinking that the two problems are related is
it possible that the rectifier has failed and now
draws constantly from the battery whether the key is on or off? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: voltage draw

You got it! There is 12V inside the motor on the terminal strip at all times.. and the rectifier is connected to it. I don't know if you have a regulator or not, but this can be the problem as well.
