Hello everyone! New here so I hope I do this right. I have a 2005 mercury bigfoot 50hp 4 stroke that im having trouble with. When im going across the lake the voltage gage Goes up to 16 v and beeps. The boat will continue to run for the most part..this happend last night and after I started it back and was heading back to the dock ot just cut off but would fire right back up..it cut off twice on the way back. I noticed when leaving the dock it was kinda hard to turn over at first than it fired right up after trying 3 times. Im pretty sure my battery is draining just sitting there. Can anyone help me? Thanks everyone.

All the connections look great. I noticed after 3-5 mins of idling my voltage regulator was very hot. Is this normal?

Bad connections can look great. Have you cleaned the battery posts and connectors? Poor connections can cause the reg/rect to overheat due to excess current.
