Voltage rectifier vs. regulator??

All,
I have a 1977 Johnson V-4 140. I recently had problems with it, and replaced the power pack and ignition coils. It is now running like a top, but doesn't appear to be charging the batteries. :( If I check voltage at the battery with/without the motor running it doesn't change the readings. I apparently have 2 voltage regulator/rectifier. I read an earlier post about someone who had this same set-up, and it appears it has something to do with having T/T and 12 amp stator? My questions are: 1)Does anyone have a part number for the regulator (module mounted on back of head by homemade looking bracket)? Although it is in some of the pictures in my manual, I can't find any mention of it. 2) which is more likely the culprit of keeping the batteries from charging? 3) Am I putting my new ignition components (i.e. PP and coils) at risk with a bad rectifier and/or regulator? I have found a place to buy my rectifier, but am having a hard time finding out anything about the regulator. I think the rectifier is ok, because my tach is working, so am figuring the problem lies with that clunky looking regualtor on the back of the motor. Wouldn't my tach not work if the rectifier was bad? If anyone could shed some light on what this regulator is and where I can find it, I would be greatly appreciative. :)

Hey Houston

Have a look here. I see the rectifier, but no regulator. Doesn't mean it's not there, though...

web page
