I have posted about this before but its still giving me a problem: outdrive kicks up when put in reverse. I read all the prior posts on this and I studied the lockdown mechanism- Seloc and Clymer manuals-tried all the adjustments but still no different results.

All the parts are in place and don't look really worn out. I am stumped.

Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? Really a pain when launching and retrieving which I am not too confident about yet anyway.

Thanks for the help- this forum has really helped me a novice boater.

Joe

Re: Volvo 270 reverse problems

Just replace the lockdown kit on the drive. It's a common problem, and most novice boaters can't tell the difference between worn and good parts on that mechanism.
