volvo 280 question

just a quick question.how much horse power can a 280 outdrive take.i'm rebuilding my 350 and unfortunately have to bore the block.was thinking of going to 10 1/2 to 1 instead of 8 1/2 to 1 ?

That won't hurt that drive at all.

Hell I'm putting a 454 in front of mine this spring and have no worries about the drive.

Provided the drive is in good shape than no problem, I've been pushing around 350hp through a 270 in a ski-boat for over 20 years!

I was told by my local boat shop mechanic that a 280 wil take up to approx 500HP. I am putting almost 500HP in front of mine.​
