So my 2008 Four Winns is overheating. I replaced the water pump and impeller that was previously faulty. I know that water is pumping good all the way to the 2 drainage holes (as water was pouring out when the engine was running). I then capped those and let it run to the point where the alarm went off. Since I know water was pumping good, I removed the riser and found it to be plugged. I also took off the metal plate between the riser and manifold gaskets that restricts 3 of 4 ports for water flow.
I put it all back together and it runs at 175*F now...all good,
QUESTION... Will this have a long term negative effect?
