I am looking for a lead on a head for a Volvo 5.0 FL 1995. It has a F3JE casting on it. Had mine sent off for rebuild cause of a cracked valve and they found a small crack in it. Any leads on one email me here, Thanks, send me a PM. Thanks.

Or if anyone knows of a 5.0 FL that someone is parting out that might help too.

Those are likely a GT40 head but with a marine engineering number. That casting number tells me 1993 Industrial/Marine Engine, and the small amount of info I dug up tells me its pretty much a standard GT40 head. If you poke around on the various Mustang boards ,you can probably turn up a set. There is a difference between the GT40 and GT40P head though, so be sure of what you're getting. Also, be sure that its a GT40 iron, not one of the Ford Racing aluminum heads with similar names.

BTW, the 1993 just means thats when it was designed. It has nothing to do with when it was actually made.

Thanks for the info. I have been told that a GT40 will work but I would rather get the same thing since I only need one side. The other side is getting rebuilt but one side has a small crack. I have done some searching and I can buy a remanufactured one but there is about a 2 week wait. I would like afaster turn around. I figure someone has a junk 5.0 somewhere they can pull a head off of. Its gonna get rebuilt anyway.

Don't bet on it. Ford V8's have very limited use in the marine industry. OMC was the big user of Fords. Ford has gotten out of the marine industry for the most part. Neither Volvo or Mercruiser use them, and Volvo only used them during the joint venture with OMC before they bought them out completly.

If I went and bought GT40 heads do you know if I need the P ones or not?

You don't need or likely want the P head. The spark plugs sit at a different angle, and it might cause fitment problems with the exhaust manifold. I've never checked that on a marine application, but I know the plug angle thing causes a lot of car headers and manifolds to not work on those heads.

I am pretty sure the ones I have are at an angle. The plus are not straight on my heads that I have now.
