I have a air leak somewhere below the elbow of my 270 volvo outdrive! I took some of you guys suggestions because my orginal problem was overheating! after i disconnected the pipe going from my out drive to the fresh water pump and stuck the hose in a bucket my water temp immediately corrected!! Thanks for all the info thru other forums!! I in returned reversed the flow of water from that pipe leading back down thru the outdrive intake and realived that below that elbow it is leaking water right around the lower yoke it feeds thru! i have a manual for the drive and it seems like a very lot of work to take the outdrive off to find the problem! can i disconnect right at the elbow on the rubber pipe and run a pipe right down the side of the boat?? has anyone else attempted this? your advice is greatly needed from this first time boat owner that has never had it in the water yet!! Boat is a 1985 bayliner aq125b 2.1lt with 270 outdrive!!
