The Details: Engine: Volvo AQ130C, 2 Solex PAII Carbs, 280 Outdrive, BOAT: 1976 Arrowglass 18ft Trihull.
I have already removed dissasembled and cleaned both carbs, and all filters.
When comming out of the hole the engine revs up and I come out of the hole about half way then the engine seems to "sputter" and will not go over about 4300 RPM not allowing to fully plane the boat. If left at full throttle for a few minutes it seems to , somethimes, just let loose and accelerate through to 5000+ RPM and planes and runs fine. At this point as long as you keep it above about 4K you can decellerate and accelerate fine, if you let down the RPM enough the problem starts again.
This problem has also happened when the boat was running fine at 3/4 throttle and it seemed to just back off as if starving for fuel or air.

The starvation idea sounds possible.

Check that sufficient fuel is supplied by the fuel pump. If not it could be either the pump, fuel line or tank vent (can be checked easily by test running with the cab off).

Re: Volvo AQ130C Power Problem

I checked dthe fuel lines/vent and pressure. The vent and all lines are not restricted in any way. When checking the fuel pressure I got a steady reading of 4.5PSI, the book calls for only 3.2 PSI. Is this a problem?
