Has anyone tried to replace a Volvo AQ270 with a newer style out drive? I have a decent out drive, but don't like the reverse lock. I want to replace it with something that has power trim.
What I have is a new GM 5.7, in a 1986 24foot Bayliner Ciera. I understand that newer outdrives have a smaller transom shield. Is there an adapter plate or anything available to make a change?
