Volvo D4 210, won't rev over 1600 rpm,

Hi all,

2005, 360 hours, it was slow to get going last year but now It's fine to 1600 rpm then it just sits there, it's as if the turbo just won't cut in and start boosting,

I have had a new boost sensor fitted but this didn't help, it's not run since last August, could the turbo be stuck ?

If so, do I just need to pull a hose off and try to spin it to check ?

What about the fuel filters they in good shape?

The problem was that the turbo spindle had rusted up over winter, all good now,

Glad to hear you figured it out. All the research I did kept coming back with the 210 was a short manufacture engine and many had problems with them. Hope the rest of your boating days are good ones.
