volvo dp 2.3 ratio for v8?

Hello:
I am new to this ,never ask in a forrum before.
I have a 1985 carver montego 26' with a 290 single prop with a 5.0 chevy
would like to upgrade to duo and have a possible 2.3 ratio available.
can I use this drive and what propellers would I need???
5500 lbs dry,26' 8' wide
have 1.6 ratio with a 16 x 17 propeller now
