If you have the volvo low pressure pump for your carb and the plug on topis acting you can replace it with the mercruiser one https://www.ebay.com/itm/296309249910

Works just like the volvo pump , bolts right up . You must remove 2 bolts and swing the bracket out of the way, screw on the pump, then reinstall the bracket.
This pump is slightly taller so dont try to bend the bracket to fit. uses all the original fittings
