volvo no run

My friend is trying to purchase a 2001 regal with a volvo 5.0gxi-b series motor. The boat starts idles for 5-10 seconds and dies. Boat has sat for one year. this is a gm based 5.0 liter with the throttle body. Plenty of fuel in the boat, new filters, when you turn the key, the fuel pump will run. Any ideas?? Thanks

Connect or check the tether cord?

probably oil pressure switch on block faulty and cutting supply to fuel pump.look on page 16 and you'll find a similar problem on a mercruiser.one of the other guys posted diagram of set-up
