Volvo outboards

Anybody know anything about small Volvo Penta outboards? I'm looking at a 9hp sail motor. Can you get parts for older motors? Any chronic problems?

Probably the most popular outboard for sail boat use (I assume that is what you meant when you said sail motor) is the Johnson or Evinrude 9.9 hp long shaft. Tons of them around and plenty of parts. <br /><br />Never heard of a Volvo outboard.

thought i was the only one who ever heard of a volvo outboard. bought one used back in the middle 80s. 25 hp. manual start. remember the carbs were manufactured by BING. was a good motor and i am guessing that parts would be hard to come by today as no one has heard of them.
