Have you checked the heat exchanger to see if maybe it's clogged? Could be that the heat exchanger needs a good cleaning out......

Sorry, but i'm pretty sure a 230 has a cooling heat exchanger. Isn't the motor FWC? If there's antifreeze and a radiator cap there has to be a heat exchanger. I know the mid 80's Volvo exchangers were known for getting clogged. Is there a red tank of some sorts mounted on the front of the motor?

Has anybody Verified the Gauge Readings ????????

coolant is fine in the expansion tank.

If you have an Expansion Tank,<br />Then you Have to have a Heat Exchanger..........<br />And I Don't mean a Cool Fuel Can............<br /><br />Which do you have ???<br />Closed Cooling,<br />Or <br />Raw Water Cooled ?????????<br /><br />You Might need a New Marina................

yes the gauges checked out I checked my owners manual the 230 does not show a heat exchanger my book also has listings for a 250 and a 251 with heat exchangers on them<br /><br /><br />What are the cooling jacets i see them listed under things to check if engine is over heating
