Volvo Penta 280 Outdrive

I am sure that this is not good.

I was removing trim lift assembly with outdrive in up position (which I now know was not a great idea). When the outdrive dropped it thrust the lift device through the housing. Now it looks like I have a winter project to keep me busy.

Looking for assistance in sourcing replacement housing.

If that is a picture of the outside portion of the transom shield where the lift comes through, you need a new one. Ebay, CL, or even your local volvo dealer may have some used parts.

Is the transom shield on the 280 interchangeable with other models..270, 290? My outdrive has power tilt only.
