Volvo Penta 4.3 GL Sea Water Pump, Where to buy???

I see a small leak coming from my sea water pump on the front of the engine when the engine is running. Is there any place to buy the sea water pump other than volvo penta which wants $265 for the water pump. Its not a bad leak, but im going to go ahead and replace it before it gets bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated

hi.....have you looked here at i boats?

other than that.....e-bay...or just about any marine shop....its a really common part.....heck...i think i have one in my shop....but im in canada so shipping is more thatn the part...lol

i havent checked here, but volvo penta store wants $265 for theres. Thats more than i pay for a volvo vehicle water pump. and the water pump is half the size. just wondering if anyone has used any aftermarket that works and if so where from

no the pump itself is leaking. the gasket is fine and so are the hoses. i looked with a mirror underneath and could see it drip from the center shaft inside the water pump. it looked like an oring was pushed out. its just dripping, not pouring but i still need to fix it.

Hey everybody,

Have a little problem with my raw water pump, it's leaking from the little weep hole when its running. I changed out the black o-ring and still leaking from same hole. Could it be the housing itself? Thanks

You should really start a new thread.

You aren't going to like this answer but you probably have to buy a whole new housing. I did for mine.

volvo penta has a small seal that goes in behind the impeller.
It is not part of the kit, you have to order it separately.

This is probably the leak your having. You can order the seal from volvo thru iboats.
