Volvo Penta 5.0GXi-E Exhaust Overheat Sensor

I'm trying to troubleshoot cooling and fuel pump problem, while working on the engine I discovered a loose connection to the exhaust overheat sensor. I'm not sure what the sensor does and was wondering if the bad connection is related to either problem.

Hard to say, what kind of overheat/fuel problems are you trying to fix ?????
