Volvo Penta 5.7GSIPWTR ECM question

My 5.7GSIPWTR needs a ECM, found a Volvo bulletin about ECMs. It basically said that ECM 3858863;3860614;3858888;3801311; and 3863338 is no longer manufactured, and is replaced by 21242092. My question is if the new replacement parts number 21242092 replaces all the other ECMs; could any of the old ECM be interchangeable with each other? i.e. my boat calls for 3801311 but I found a new 3863338 that not listed on my parts breakdown table for fraction of the cost of a new 21242092, since both are replaced by the new part number, Should 3863338 not work with my engine?
