I have a broken tooth on my flywheel

Where would be the best place to get a new one? Are they just a GM part?

You don't need a new flywheel, only the ring gear. NAPA has ring gears. Measure the flywheel and count the teeth on the ring gear.

I did just that to mine. It was a GM Vortec motor but the ring gear teeth count was 153 while a gm replacement flywheel was 160something.makes a difference with the starter.

Ayuh,.... There's 2 possible sizes,... 153 tooth, 12" wheel, 'n the 168 tooth 14" flywheel...
