Hi All,
I'm a boat newbie so hang in there with me. I bought a boat a month ago and have been working on it. Its a 78 Marine Ranger with a Volvo Penta AQ 125A. I have fixed a lot of the issues and it has ran great these last couple of weeks. I have started it out of water several times, with the water "ears" on to test different things. This morning I go to start it up before taking it to the lake and had some trouble. The engine cranked, but slowly and not usual. After a few tries there was no reaction at all to trying to turn it on. I have confirmed that when the key is turned power to the starter is being sent, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Could it be that the starter froze? It has started fine often in this last month. I also checked fuses, switched the battery, and tried putting electricity to the starter directly. Any thoughts or advice would be helpful. Thanks.
