Hi, this question may be a bit premature as I won't be picking this boat up till this weekend. It's a 24' Fiberform with twin V-P 140's. I'm not sure of the year of the engines yet but have been told that they have something like 1500 hours on them and they run strong...but have some "quirks" that I plan on taking care of this winter. My question: Is there an automotive equivalent for these engines? For example, one of the things I'll need to do is pull the Starbord engine to repair a small hole (rust?) in the oil pan...will I need to buy a V-P pan gasket or can I go to napa and pick up a pan gasket for some type of car? How about an equivalent for major components...pistons, rings, heads...etc. etc.'
Thanks in advance, Kirk

Just a marinized version. Shares many of the same parts.

From Los Angeles.
