Hi all

I have a Volvo Penta AQ140a inboard motor in my boat, I haven't started her up for about a year and when I went to start it today the lights all came on but when i turned the key I got nothing, no clicking no turning over, nothing. Yes I had taken the battery out and charged it fully. I have tested that there is power getting to the starter but am not terribly good at knowing what else to look for in these things. I had recently replaced the head on it before it's last use and have checked the water and oil before trying to start it this time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Jeff

welcome aboard.

most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. I would start with the battery connections at the battery, and work your way to the motor and back. each connection has to be shiney metal, and clean enough to eat off of it.

Since you believe that there is power to the starter, I would also look at the connections on the slave solenoid.
