Hello All,

My alarm is currently disconnected but when it is connected, I have a constant alarm, even when the engine is off and the key is just turned. When my alarm went off before, it was a beeping, but now its constant.

Do I have a short somewhere? a blown fuse somewhere?

I own an 03 Monterey 245CR w/5.7L Volvo Penta GXi-E. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You probably have a faulty alarm switch somewhere. Oil pressure, engine temp, there are also 2 switches in the exhaust elbows. Disconnect them one at a time until the alarm stops.

I figured it had to be something like that. Hate to ask but you don't know where they are do you Don, or have a picture of where they may be?

Really thank you for your help

when the engine is not running, and the key is turned on, to the aux position, the alarm still goes off.. could the sensors still be triggering the alarm even if the engine is not on?

With the engine off, and the ignition key in the run position, you will get an alarm. No oil pressure. When you start it and the oil pressure comes up the alarm should stop. If it's still on then, remove the wire from each one one at a time till you find out which one. The sensors on the exhaust risers probably fail more often than the others.
