I have just purchased a new boat and on test drive all was fine. after a long interstate transport which I believe to have been a bit rough, now I have a constant alarm.
When key is in the ON position and not running it is a dull constant alarm (2.6v on siren) but once running its a loud constant alarm (12v on siren). However no warning lights up. when test button pressed warning lights for temp and oil work and alarm is loud. But the top red light on the bank of four isn't working (no idea what these are for)
ideas???? this one has me stumped
motor details:
Volvo penta TAM031P-A

Thanks Scott

Does the alarm sound Running?

It may have a fuel restriction alarm.

The 4 lights could be, water temp, oil press., glow plugs if your engine has them & battery or it's telling you the alternator isn't charging.
I don't think there is a fuel restriction alarm, I would suspect the oil pressure or water temp sending units, sensors, there must be a way
to troubleshoot those. Look for loose connections or corrosion on those sending units
I'm curious about the 2.6V with key on, then 12v when started. Mine gives full audible alarm with key on and engine not running,,oil pressure alarm, so when I first start engine I always have alarm until oil pressure comes up.
