Volvo Penta D4 300 oil leak

I have a Formula 400SS with Volvo Penta D4 300 Diesel's. I have an oil leak back by the turbo but cant see where it is coming from. My mechanic say its the oil vent filter that is clogged causing the leak. Could this be true ?

If it has never been changed I would say very feasible
