Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... If the fittin' is o-ring backed, ya probably don't need anything on the threads,....
That said,....
When in doubt, or I can't see a difference, I use abit of quicksilver perfect seal(aka: form-a-gasket #3) on threads, just to seal 'em from rust or other baddies,.....
