Any that you can get a Volvo flywheel cover to fit, and a way to get the exhaust out.
The 280 was used on the 30 (4 cyl) and 40 (6 cyl) Volvo diesels.

What size engine are you looking to go with, what speed, what size boat and weight, what gear ratio is in the drive, etc. Lot more to it than just bolting an engine to a drive.

It is 25 ft Thompson Daytona,twin engine,got only boat without engines or drives (Merc.originally) .
I have Volvo Penta 280 outdrives for this project ,with 1.89:1 ratio.
Wonder if two 4cylinder diesels will propels this boat at least to plane ,and stay on plane.
Boat had originally two V6 mercs.
