Volvo Penta Drive difference

I need to replace the drives on my 06 Larson 330 and I'm wondering what the difference between the DPS A and the DPS B drives . The orriginal was a DP SM driven by a 5.7 MPI .

I think they are interchangeable, but specifically I cant tell what the difference is.

Yes the A and B use the same transome plate but the SM the older model is different

Haven?t looked into it, but as far as I know, the ?A? has two 3 blade Props and the ?B? has either a 3 and a 4 blade or two 4 blades.....I think.
Perhaps to do with the intended application.

I know that older VP drives (with which I?m more familiar) a 4 blade usually meant it was for a diesel...but I?ve seen these A and B drives on both.
