Please help I have a 1988 volvo penta 4 cyl engine, it worked fine last season. Now it is only running off the 1 and 4 cyl you can pull the wires off the other 2 and there is no difference in engine performance. I have replaced plugs switched wires checked cap. What could be the problem. Please help

A blown head gasket between the two middle cylinders?

Oil looks fine so I dont Think it is the head gasket.

First check your compression. It should be around 140 lbs. If compression is low it could be bad valves or head gasket. Check for intake manifold leak. Spray CRC 556 around intake gasket. It it changes the running of the engine you have a leak around the gasket. Also, very likely it could be your distributor. Point gap might not be right. If this doesn't help you can call me at 1-800-949-2189.
