Will the DP series from 1995 interchange with DP series of 2004? Currently have a 2004 DP-SM 1.95 Ratio that electrolysis has gotten the best of. Found a good used 1995 year model, can't make out information on tag, but appears to the same unit? What were the differences in these units?

no, 1995 should be the AQ series, most likey an DP-C (290DP derivative)

the SM is a different animal, however the lower is similar in both design and shape, but NOT interchangeable.
