Hi marv
check the 'seacock '(tap) is on at the inlet.
Prime the system with water ie fill the strainer.
Your probably up for a new impellor again if you cooked it.
gud luck

Hi marv im only guessing at your set up but try to follow the pipes from the strainer. One goes to the water pump and the other to a hole in the side of the boat.Check if there is any sort of a water tap at this point.Pull the hose off if you have to and make sure water is coming in and there's no restrictions.
Do you leave the boat on a mooring or trailer it out? Did you change the impellor yourself or your mech?
Also check the strainer lid has a good seal and the unit is not cracked.
