Hello gents. It's been a while since i've posted a question....and my boat restoration has gone well over the last few months. I much have rather thrown it away then did an "off the stringer restoration" but i was committed, and struggled threw it, and it does look great. New Paint, interior the whole sha-bang. Its a 97 Glastron SE 19.5 with a volvo penta SX Cobra drive strapped to a 4.3.

So, its water time, last i checked the boat it was late winter and with all the interior in i couldn't hear "feel" a vibration. Before putting the bench seat/sunpad/backboard in i wanted to make sure my motor was top notch, incase i needed to replace anything else. So, i started the boat, engaged it and ran it higher in RPM's then i did b4..right about at 1500. (Had the hose and muff's hooked to get water flowing). Problem is that it rattles a little at idle and vibrates as you increase in throttle (while engaged into drive) * Ran with just normal engine noise/vibration when not engaged at about 2500rpms.. When the trim is down the noise/vibration goes away slightly, but as you trim up the noise vibration increase. Side to side is fine. All the fluids in the back are fine, they were changed prior to me purchasing the boat. So, i can't tell what the DNA was.

Ive read a few threads, but i seem to be having issues a little different.
Also, is there an online manual somewhere on the forum? I saw in a thread that there is a section, altho i could not find it.

Thanks in advance

Re: Volvo Penta SX Cobra drive. Vibration/chatter and rattle?...

Found the manual, greased the shaft a bit, still a vibration, im going to put it in the water and run it around the bay to see how it responds off the trailer. Anyone have any input or experience? Im pretty certain that the u-joints would be the culprit but how to tell the difference between bad and what is normal?
