I thought I would post this because it's kind of a big deal. I used to do a lot of travel to preform warranty repairs. In a normal 10 hr. day, 5-6 hrs. Would be "windshield" time. When I worked for a good dealer, they would usually not charge the customer for travel time. When I worked for a not so good dealer, they would usually charge the customer. Haul out was another expense that worked the same way.

I would like to commend Volvo Penta of the Americas for making this change!
Now let's see what Mercury Marine does. (they still charge for these things)

Important: Warranty Policy Update

Twin gasoline sterndrive products are now eligible for reimbursement of haul-out and travel. These allowances are effective immediately including repairs in process, but not retroactive to completed repairs. Volvo Penta of the Americas has made updates to the following sections of the Warranty Policy and Procedure Manual*

4.9.2 Haul-Out, Dockage, & Marina Expenses
In cases where haul-out, dockage, or marina fees are required to carry out a repair on a marine diesel or twin gasoline sterndrive product, the costs may be reimbursed up to a maximum amount of:
$12 USD/$15 CAD per foot up to $540 USD/$685 CAD total for all diesel AQ, IPS10, and twin gasoline sterndrive
NOTE: One haul-out can only be claimed per vessel, not per Volvo Penta driveline
All sublet documentation and reimbursement policy requirements apply.

4.10 Travel Reimbursement
It may be necessary for a Business Partner to travel to a customer location to perform a repair. Reimbursement for travel is limited to the following products:
Marine
Diesel products
Twin gasoline sterndrive products
Industrial
All products

Travel is only covered under the following conditions:
The need for technician travel is due to an eligible warranty failure.
Travel is conducted by a qualified technician from a Business Partner using a suitable vehicle intended for the repair require which is adequately equipped to perform diagnosis and repair.
Travel reimbursement is limited to the distance to and from the nearest qualified Business Partner using a single vehicle and must be fair and reasonable for the repair.
Removal of parts from the product or unit for in-shop rebuilding when the part cannot be repaired or rebuilt properly in the field
