I have a wellcraft excel with a volvo penta 3.0 gl on it. It will fire right up and runs great for about 20-30 minutes without any issues. Then all of a sudden it sounds like it is starving for fuel and the boat loses power. I can usually get it started back up, and run it for a a minute or two before it will stall out again. Right now the water is cold, and it really doesn't seem like an over heating issue.
The carb has been rebuilt, I put a new fuel filter and water seperator on it. I changed the fuel lines. I know there was water in the fuel tank, and I siphoned the gas out and filled the tank up.
I am at a loss here. Does anyone else have any ideas on what could cause this type of issue?
Could it be spark plugs or fuel pump? It really seems like it is starving for fuel, but it runs so perfectly for so long and then all of a sudden it just dies out?
