Thank you all for your prompt responses to my last inquiry.

I bought the 280C drive. gear ratio is 1:98-1

Next query.
Two boats. 21' bayliner with OMC 140 4 cyl.

24' bayliner with penta 225D 305

I have a chance to buy an OMC 350. I would like to put the 350 in the 24' and put the 305 in the 21' boat and sell the 4 cyl.

I have been told that the 305 and the 350 are the same block. Is this true?

Can I swap the marine components from one to the other and expect each engine to fit where I want it to?

A friend said if the bell housings are the same it should be able to be managed somehow.

PS my friend knows nothing about boats.

Doug

Re: Volvo sterndrive

Should be easy. I dont think there is any diffrence in the 305 and 350 except internal.

Re: Volvo sterndrive

The 305/350 engines are identical in external appearance and dimensions everything off the 305 will both right to the 350 no problem. Rick :)
