Can someone please direct me to the proper fitting for pressure testing a 1999 Volvo SX outdrive? I plan to use it with a Mityvac automotive pressure/vacuum tester.

I need to pressure test my outdrive because the oil was milky when I drained it at the end of last season. We were heading out of town so I just put new oil in it and put the boat in storage. With winter coming to a close, I want to have everything ready for the pressure/vacuum test when I pull the boat out of storage.

I've seen a fitting for filling the Volvo DP drive (Volvo part #3855932). Does anyone know if this fitting will work to pressure test the SX drive?

Best thing to do is find one of the aftermarket gear lube pumps that has the metal fitting that connects to the drive. Then use that fitting for your pressure tester.

Ayuh,.... It's 3/8" -16 threads,....

Ya could build 1 outa a regular 3/8" bolt, but Mine all were salvaged from thrown away qt. bottle pumps...

Thanks. Now to find a gear lube pump with a metal fitting. Seems like most of them are plastic now days (made in China too!).

I know the Merc/Quicksilver brand USED to have metal fittings, and I was thinking Sierra did to. But things change. Most every boating store carries them, maybe even wally world. Then you can at least look at them and tell.
