volvo trim problem

I have a volvo 151 with 290 outdrive. Trim motor is fairly new; however, it has been sitting for many months, and is not working. What I want to do is raise drive so I can tow the boat. Can I do this through the leads to the motor itself? It has a single plug in 'module' with blue and green wires to the tilt motor.

Yes, you can jump it. On the 2 wires going to the motor, put Positive to the blue and Negative to green. The drive will go up. reverse for down.
